Addiction treatment for both alcohol and drug abuse
Have you struggled with alcohol or drugs and worry that it’s a bigger problem than you can handle on your own? Drug and alcohol misuse, most commonly referred to as addiction, can be a complicated experience. You may have even felt some positive benefits from alcohol and/or drugs. But ultimately, you know that they just aren’t working like they used to.
I work within a Harm Reduction paradigm in which alcohol and/or drug misuse, or “addiction”, is seen as a relationship. Harm Reduction addresses the deeper understanding that there are parts of us that want to gain control over an addiction and there are parts that are still ambivalent.
I will work with you to understand your ambivalence, address it directly, and use it to inform your deeper unmet needs. This deeper work will create a foundation that you can use for the rest of your life.
I understand that often untreated psychological symptoms such as sleeplessness, distraction, avoidance, sadness, anger, and feelings of hopelessness can interfere with your ability to make sustainable changes. Whether you are looking for a way to gain control over your substance and alcohol use, or want to stop completely, I can help.
